80's H O R R O R
You can start a good debate when you ask, "What was the best decade for horror?" For me nothing beats the 80's. Yes, the 70's had some great films but the 80's was the best time to make horror films. There was more freedom artistically for film makers to make movies then they have today. We can enjoy silly horror films like Killer Klowns From Outer space to a darker film like Hellraiser.
Think back about the film that gave you the best jump scare as a kid. What was it? Nine out of ten when you re-watch it as an adult you laugh and can't believe how scared you were. But we always have love for them and we can't wait to introduce them to our children.
80's horror has always been the best for horror. Unfortunately, this generation will never experience horror films as we did. The wonders of practical effects does not compare to CGI.
